Day Travel Trip
The airline industry wants your business and dangling some pretty cheap flights on their website, and gas prices are starting to look like Dean's List GPAs, so it is tempting to think flights are the way to travel this summer. This might be true, but we are still particle to learn more about the space very close to us. Afterall, we will need to save our money on purchasing new dorm supplies soon.
So what's so interesting about your home town? Let's take a look at what we can do this summer. Here are some ideas for fun activities that can be done on a budget.
Visit historical sites. Often historical sites are free or very cheap as part of their mission to be educational sites as well.
Have a friends reunion and visit the parks of your hometown including the zoo, aquarium, or botanical gardens for a bargain price! Many offer student discounts!
Take advantage of free walking tours in the cities you visit during your summer travels.
Look in your local papers or college associations for special economic events, like free or cheap concerts.
Visit a community garden- you might make friends with the people living next door to you.
Go to a free movie at your college's movie theater! (These are quite popular in the summer).
Swim in a pool! (Or lake or ocean)
Check out a local museum.
Relax or have picnics in the grass. Many colleges now have green spaces that are voided of busy students cutting through for class.
Take a college class that is offered that helps you explore the campus, or the surrounding area. Art classes are some of Krista and Ayrielle's favorite. We get to go outside and draw some pretty landscapes.
We hope these ideas can help you get the most of your July. August is just around the corner, which means back to school!
